Animal Rescue Trailers

Through New Jersey Homeland Security Grants, the Department of Agriculture has awarded 12 trailers to eight county Offices of Emergency Management to assist in animal emergencies.  These trailers are to be used by those counties and shared with adjacent counties to shelter and provide veterinary care to animals during times of emergency.  Each trailer was stocked with supplies to help members of County Animal Response Teams (CARTs), first-responders -- care for the animals in their charge.  The trailer project was a cooperative effort between the NJ Department of Agriculture, NJ State Police Office of Emergency Management and NJ Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness.
